Stick to the Facts

Fifth grade was an exciting year for Jim. He had so many new subjects, his favorite dealing with various sciences. Students were able to conduct lab experiments with the help of the teacher. Jim learned the importance of staying with only the facts and not being swayed by anything else. The teacher explained why you shouldn't mix anything but the pure ingredients to get the proper solution. She showed the class how a solution would be spoiled if they used a dirty test tube, for example. Jim really loved seeing the perfect results of his work.

One evening just after Jim had gone to bed, he found he couldn't move one leg without a lot of pain. So he told his mother he wanted a Christian Science practitioner to pray for him. The practitioner asked that Jim and his mother, together, study "the scientific statement of being" See Science and Health, p. 468. by Mrs. Eddy.

Jim had heard this read at the close of Sunday School each week. Now here was his chance to see if he really understood it.
