Letters to the Press
From Christian Science Committees on Publication
Insight Magazine
Insight Magazine
Washington, D.C.
We appreciate your desire to publish some brief views of the doctrines and practices of other religions. It is in this same spirit, and because the source of some of your information was not entirely correct, that we would like to add two observations to what you wrote about Christian Science (September 21).
First, the divinity and atonement of Christ are indispensable to the life of the Christian Scientist. Without the divinity of Christ there could be no atonement. Without atonement there could be no Christianity. The teachings of Christian Science would make no sense without them both.
