Freedom Right Now!
Sitting on the deck of my island hillside home one day, gazing out on a tranquil blue sea, I thought how very grateful I am to God for His tender, loving care.
God made man to reflect Him, and God made everything that was made—good. So anything and everything that is not good is a lie about God. If it is a lie, it isn't true. If it isn't true, it isn't real. If it isn't real, it has no power. If it has no power, it cannot annoy, disturb, or harm anyone; then, it is nothing, absolutely no thing.
Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32; Therefore when we are able to understand and really accept these truths, we are free. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Gal. 5:1;
Christian Science shows us we can be free right now.
Now was not yesterday. Nor is it tomorrow or next week. Now is right this very moment. Now is forever, eternal, infinite. Mrs. Eddy has this important statement about now, and it sums up my gratitude for God's always-present love: "We own no past, no future, we possess only now." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 12.
