"Freely ye have received, freely give" (Matt. 10:8)

"Freely ye have received, freely give" (Matt. 10:8). The spirit of Christ Jesus' words in this Bible verse motivates my sharing this testimony.

At one time a lump appeared on our son's lower eyelid. At first we paid little attention to it, until it seemed to be increasing in size. Realizing that healing was needed, we turned thought more earnestly to God. Daily our prayer was to see our son as God's likeness, not material but spiritual, pure and free from all discord. We also asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment.

Our son was attending junior high school at the time, and many lessons in getting along with others were learned during this healing. One day he came home from school very upset, fearing that his nose had been broken by the punch of a boy who had knocked him down. We realized immediately that we must hold only loving thoughts for our neighbors and see them all as God's beloved children. Together we read the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. We felt God's loving presence with us, and we felt love for our neighbor. The next day the other boy apologized, and he and our son have been on friendly terms since. Our son's nose healed quickly with no aftereffects.
