Over five years ago I became interested in Christian Science through a Mother Church radio program in the series "The Truth That Heals." I would like to share my healing experience.

At the time I was going to a doctor every two weeks and was taking seven kinds of medicine for various ailments with no apparent possible release from taking the medicine. Thyroid and nerves were among the ailments. I had asked myself and the doctor, "If I am taking all this medicine to keep going now at my present age, what is going to happen as I grow older?" The doctor had no answer for me, and I did not like the prospects. I found my answer in Christian Science.

After hearing the radio program I went to a Christian Science Reading Room to get firsthand information about Christian Science. I knew Mary Baker Eddy was the Founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and that Christian Scientists believe in relying on God to heal ills rather than going to a doctor; but that was all I knew. The librarian in the Reading Room was very helpful. She gave me a pamphlet about the facts of Christian Science and asked if I would like to borrow a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from the lending library; I agreed to.
