In the May 25 Evening Independent a quotation was taken from the Encyclopedia Americana which reads, "Scientology does, however, bear comparison with Christian Science."

Now I have no knowledge of the teachings of Scientology and, therefore, cannot draw a comparison. But I can bear witness to the Christianity imbedded in Christian Science.

Through its teachings I have gained a clearer comprehension of the power and presence of God and of my own relationship to Him.

My human experience has been enriched through this prayer-based religion which lifted me from among the unemployed into a business, and later, into the healing ministry.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in her textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "Prayer, watching, and working, combined with self-immolation, are God's gracious means for accomplishing whatever has been successfully done for the Christianization and health of mankind."
