Several years ago some very alarming symptoms appeared on my body. I was very much afraid, and although I prayed, there was no improvement. The situation went on for several months, and suddenly the difficulty took on a very frightening form. Now I determined really to turn with my whole heart to God alone. That evening I retired early. I prayed and studied the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I also read an article in a Christian Science pamphlet that inspired me. Then all at once I felt the assurance that God's law is good, that it is ever present and effective, and that man is governed only by divine law. A great joy came over me, and I could place the whole problem in God's hands. I knew that He would settle it for me. I was relieved of all worry and fear. Then I fell asleep. I awakened two or three times during the night, and each time I was filled with this great joy and the consciousness of God's presence.

Shortly after I got up in the morning, an inner growth was discharged. With that, all the pain was gone. I was healed.

One day a foreign object flew into our son's eye. It hurt him very much and he began to cry. Our children attend a Christian Science Sunday School. We realized that man is always safe in divine Love and can never be hurt. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." The pain subsided immediately. Next day the object came out of the eye without having caused our son any further discomfort.
