LET ME GO FORTH
Let me walk as seeing the One who is invisible,
As Abraham walked when he left Haran to worship
his God,
With a trust so unwearied he could leave the gods of
his fathers
And, putting his hand into the hand of God,
Go forth.
As Lot did from Sodom—without turning back—
And Moses, too.
How could he know how God would feed those hungry
children each day in a wilderness?
Going out.
For him it was enough to trust in God and obey His
every word—
To hold His laws so fast that all men around could see
God's power—
His mighty arm.
The arm of God, which held unharmed those Hebrews
in the furnace
And Daniel in the lions' den,
Is here to lean on—outstretched with love.
Beloved,
The tender care of God's love is
Upholding and strengthening all good
within us.
Let me,
As those before did,
Go forth as seeing the One who is invisible.
