While my son and daughter-in-law, with whom I live, were away...

While my son and daughter-in-law, with whom I live, were away on a vacation, I stayed with dear relatives who tend to be concerned about me because I am ninety-five.

One morning I awoke feeling nauseated and couldn't stand up. With great difficulty I managed to phone a practitioner and asked her to give me Christian Science treatment. I called her twice during the day. She prayed for me and said that in the middle of the afternoon when she was giving me further treatment she saw very clearly that I was not living in a material body, but was the embodiment of perfect health and strength, spiritual ideas, which I reflected as a child of God. Having seen this as divine fact, she knew the healing had taken place.

I had been alone in the house all day but knew that my relatives would be returning from work soon. I was anxious to be up and about when they came home. At about the same time that the practitioner felt so assured of my healing, I decided to try to get dressed. As I stood up, I suddenly felt a great change and said aloud, "I'm healed!" You can imagine how grateful I was to God and Christian Science for this healing. That night I went out to a restaurant with my relatives and enjoyed a lovely dinner. I was perfectly free. There has been no return of the illness.

I am grateful for another instance of Love's protection. Recently I fell, bumping a TV table and causing it to collapse and break a pane of glass in a glass door. At the time I was not fearful but felt certain that I was ever under God's protection. Although pieces of glass were found in my hair and glass was all around me, I was not so much as scratched.

I am truly grateful for the health and happiness I have experienced since becoming a student of Christian Science over sixty years ago. I have been a member of The Mother Church and a branch church since 1928.
