GRATITUDE TO A FRIEND
You said so many years ago:
Keep close to God.
I listened to your words
and found the most surprising fact—
that God kept close to me.
I did not have to run around
to find Him
nor did He run around for me.
He stayed right there
through winding paths and upward trails
through dongas deep and clouded vales
of tears.
Right there on time, on call
there—close to me.
