The Gift of Christmas

No matter when it is celebrated, no matter the irrelevancies surrounding it, no matter the commercial flurries and their excesses, nothing has really silenced the Christmas message that God is with us. He has given nothing less than His whole perfect self to be reflected as the reality of each one of us.

That's the ageless truth. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "Throughout all generations both before and after the Christian era, the Christ, as the spiritual idea,—the reflection of God,—has come with some measure of power and grace to all prepared to receive Christ, Truth."  Science and Health, p. 333;

Christmas, then, isn't really a time of year; it's a reminder of the spiritual idea of God—the Christ—ever appearing. While Jesus manifested the spiritual idea of God more completely than anyone before or since (and we call him Christ Jesus because of this), the Christ has not come and gone. It simply is forever.
