Daily Prayer for Peace
Peace in this world—how can we attain it? Prayer is the answer, prayer based on an understanding of the allness of divine Mind, the all-power of divine Love, and the nothingness of evil.
Mrs. Eddy prayed for the peace of the world. She wrote, "For many years I have prayed daily that there be no more war, no more barbarous slaughtering of our fellow-beings; prayed that all the peoples on earth and the islands of the sea have one God, one Mind; love God supremely, and love their neighbor as themselves." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 286;
We might be tempted to think one individual can't do very much to help a world or a nation beset by division and hatred. But there is much that one individual can do through prayer. In the Bible we are told of a besieged city that had in it "a poor wise man." This man "by his wisdom delivered the city." Eccl, 9:15;
