Listen to God
The Bible tells us when Abram was a little boy he lived in a city named Ur. There people worshiped idols. Idols are figures often carved out of stone and sometimes made to look like men. You can see them and feel them, but they are not alive. They cannot think or speak.
People who worship idols are afraid of them, but this is only because they think idols are gods that can harm people.
When Abram grew up, he heard the real God speaking to him and telling him to go out and start a new nation. God blessed Abram because he had heard His voice. Abram had listened, and God gave him right thoughts.
