This testimony expresses my gratitude to God for acquainting me with the truth of God and man through the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy. Yes, it was through the reading of Science and Health and the prayer of a Christian Science practitioner that I was completely healed of a form of tuberculosis. The doctors to whom I had turned told me the condition would be difficult to cure and that I would not be able to have children. I had already lost one child some time before and I was very depressed by that medical verdict.

It was then, after persistent encouragement by my mother, who had been completely transformed after she knew of Christian Science, that I decided to read Science and Health. One passage particularly struck me (p. 199): "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible." Gradually, as I continued reading, my thought was more expectant of good, and my physical condition improved, until I understood that I no longer needed any medical care. At the end of three months I had the joy of a new pregnancy which, with the faithful help of the practitioner, ran its course in serenity and harmony.

Now my little girl is three years old and attends the Christian Science Sunday School in our branch church.
