Forty-six years ago I was very impressed with a healing my husband had with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. I was not a Christian Scientist at that time. I called the practitioner and asked for treatment through prayer for deafness. I had been troubled with deafness for several years. I received an instantaneous healing in Christian Science. This led me to the study of the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and The Mother Church. The study of Christian Science has brought countless blessings to our family.

I want to express my gratitude for a healing that occurred a few years ago. In November of 1973 I began to manifest symptoms of crippling arthritis in the legs and back. This continued for about four months, and I was confined to my bed or to an easy chair. During this period I was consecrating my time to faithful study of Christian Science and having help from a Christian Science practitioner.

The Lord's Prayer was my constant companion. I grew to understand that God governs and controls the body. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 379), "The real jurisdiction of the world is in Mind, controlling every effect and recognizing all causation as vested in divine Mind."
