I would like to begin with a favorite Bible quotation that truly expresses my reason for writing this testimony (Ps. 150:1, 2): "Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness."

Many years ago, I had my introduction to Christian Science. It came as a result of a serious illness during the time of an influenza outbreak. After treating me for about three weeks, the doctor could not diagnose the illness, nor could medication bring any relief.

My wife had been a student of Science for several years prior to my illness and, seeing my condition worsening, asked me if I would like to have Christian Science treatment. I readily agreed to her calling the Christian Science practitioner who had greatly helped her in her search for healing. The practitioner come to see me the same evening, talked to me for about an hour to quiet my fear, and told me of God's great love for me. She asked me to hold to these thoughts during the night as she did prayerful work for me—that God, divine Mind, governs me, that God made me in His image and likeness, and that since God is perfect, I am also perfect, right now! I did ponder these statements prayerfully. I had a good night's rest and awakened in the morning completely healed!
