Do You Want to Feel Close to God?
Anyone who begins the study of Christian Science soon learns, if he does not already know, that God is not in the sky, where, strangely enough, many people believe Him to be exclusively. The Supreme Being, because He is infinite, fills the spiritual universe. Knowing this, we can understand and prove Him to be very near each one of us. The desire to feel closer to our creator makes attaining this sense of closeness to God through spiritual understanding a human possibility.
Logically, in order to feel close to our Maker, the great I am, divine Life, All, we have to think of Him rightly. We must try to understand His very substance and know His vast character. He is almighty in strength, yet gentle and merciful. His love is as much present with a tumbling kitten as it is with the whole revolving planet Earth. When we think about divine Principle's sublime infinity and the glorious wonders and beauty of His creation, we realize the omnipresence of Love and what God has done for us, and thus feel close to our Father-Mother.
We can become confidently conscious of the inseparability of divine Mind, God, and the real man, Mind's reflection. We can know our true individuality is everlasting Life's expression—spiritual, perfect, Godlike. God cannot be separate from His own manifestation, man. Soul's all-presence and continuous self-expression make it necessarily true that God is always with His offspring, giving them all.
