Until three years ago I attended a church of another denomination once or twice a year. I went to church with no feeling of love or devotion of any kind, and I left church in a similar attitude. Religiously, I guess, I was living a life of aimlessness.

Then I was introduced to Christian Science. I realize I was divinely guided to this religion. There has been a transition of loveliness, gentleness, and joy. It can be compared to the beautiful hymn of Mary Baker Eddy's, with the words "Shepherd, show me how to go" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304). I see myself as the sheep. The Shepherd found me wandering in the wilderness, lost, not knowing who I am, where I came from, my purpose in existence, or what God is. The Christ, Truth, brought me into the fold. I am learning to cast off the old man and put on the new man. Now I know there is a God, and what God means to me, and to mankind and the universe. I also know who I am and my purpose for existence.

Each day I read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and try to understand its depth and spiritual significance. I also pray humbly and sincerely to progress in this straight and narrow path to eternal joy. I try to pray as often as I can because I know that I benefit from this, and that I can help others also with my prayers. I pray in gratitude to God for all the goodness He bestows on the universe, mankind, my household, my family, and myself.
