Ever since studying Christian Science and joining The Mother Church and a branch church, I have had many healings. I would like to tell of one of them.

After I returned to Holland in 1946, after having been in a concentration camp in the Far East for three and a half years, I began to have foot trouble. The pain in my feet, and especially in the ankles, was sometimes extreme. The heel bone stuck out quite a bit, so that it was very hard to fit it into a shoe. One of my friends advised me to consult a good orthopedist, which I did. I was told to wear arch supports. After some time the pain disappeared and I could walk again, although always with heavy arch supports. I did not think about it; it had become second nature.

A year and a half ago I decided to move to Spain with friends. All this worked out so harmoniously that I felt intensely grateful for this wonderful Science. One evening when I was thinking about the move, the thought suddenly came to me: But what are you doing about your feet now? In a few days you have to go to the specialist for your semiannual treatment! It was as if lightning had struck, and I said aloud: "Well, what about it?" Everything went through my thought again like a flash. As at the first visit years before, I heard the specialist say again: "I can still help you, but if you had stayed away another month, you would have been confined to a wheelchair for the rest of your life."
