Take Off the Mask!

When witches and goblins make their rounds,
And the air is full of eerie sounds,
The neighborhood seems a different place—
It's hard to find a familiar face!

But are you scared on Halloween night
When all these strangers pop into sight?
Of course not! You know they just pretend—
Behind every mask may be a friend!

Just so does error play its games,
Parading in ugly masks and names,
Making us think we're sad or afraid
And seeming to hide the child God made.

Strip off the mask—let Truth shine through,
Showing only what's true of you.
     You image Love—one Spirit, Soul,
For God made you loving, happy, and whole.
