Truth Is Never Reversed
What we accept as true has direct bearing on the quality of our day-to-day life. God, the provable teachings of Christian Science explain, is Truth, the origin of all that is true. Spiritual facts of Truth may at first seem startling, but careful pondering shows us their logic and practicality.
Truth is infinite and irresistible because it has no outside, it has no enemies or opposition. Truth embraces all in its care and goodness. Everything Truth creates and includes has meaning and purpose. Eternal Truth, God, is never reversed, and therefore its supposed opposites—mistakes, error, discord—are unreal. Mrs. Eddy tells us: "Error is a supposition that pleasure and pain, that intelligence, substance, life, are existent in matter. Error is neither Mind nor one of Mind's faculties. Error is the contradiction of Truth. Error is a belief without understanding. Error is unreal because untrue." She says further, "If error were true, its truth would be error, and we should have a self-evident absurdity—namely, erroneous truth." Science and Health, p. 472;
Error is not an entity, a solidity, a reality. It is a self-destroying absurdity because its opposite, Truth, is irreversible. When shedding through Christian Science the derivatives of belief in substance, intelligence, and life in matter—appearing as illness, wrongdoing, hatred, meaninglessness—we are not changing one thing into its antithesis (an error into something truthful) but are seeing error for the nothingness it is and must forever remain.
