Letters to the Press
From Christian Science Committees on Publication
Peru Daily Tribune
Peru Daily Tribune
Peru, Indiana
At this time, it seems more important than ever before that quiet and moderating voices of intelligent men of goodwill be heard in our communities and in our country. Unfortunately, the article by [the author] published in your paper seems to be just the opposite in its effect.
The author, for example, repeatedly refers in a wholly misleading way to Christian Science. It seems necessary therefore to state that Christian Scientists are law-abiding and responsible members of the community. While they do believe spiritual healing is a basic and practical aspect of Christianity, their approach to religion is deeply reasoned and thoughtful. They are not advocates of blind faith.
