Getting My Life in Focus
I know from experience that Christian Science heals sin completely and permanently.
But for a long time before my healing I had been seeing myself as a helpless mortal, wanting to do good but being incapable of it. I felt under the control of some power that could force me to do things against my will. I couldn't understand how a loving God could abandon someone who was earnestly asking for His help and really wanted to do good.
I had been raised as a Christian Scientist, but I decided I couldn't believe in God as Love if He wasn't helping me when I so desperately needed it. And so I didn't think I could honestly accept anything else that Christian Science taught about Him.
