Jesus and the Father
Even when Jesus was a young boy, he knew that God was his Father and that he was God's beloved Son. He often called God "Father" when he prayed to Him. And he taught us to say, "Our Father which art in heaven" Matt. 6:9; in the Lord's Prayer, the prayer he gave all Christians to use. You see, when Jesus said we should pray to God as "Our Father," he was showing that God is really everyone's Father.
We are the Father's beloved children, but we have to prove this truth by acting like His sons and daughters. Jesus proved it all the time by being loving and truthful and by always helping people. He knew that people were really the children of God, and this healed them of their sins and sicknesses and they became more Godlike. Christian Science teaches that we can heal people that way, too.
Jesus' life was so Godlike that he was called Christ Jesus. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says, "Christ expresses God's spiritual, eternal nature." Science and Health, p. 333.
