Thought: The Basis of Action

If our thoughts are perpetually fearful, worrisome, angry, or sensual, then we are apt to act in accord with these states of thought. At other times perhaps we express happiness, compassion, and kindness as a result of joyful, uplifting thoughts. We find our experience to be the effect of thought.

To be assured that action is based on right thought, one must understand that right thought is simply our acceptance of the infinite, good ideas constantly flowing from God, Mind. When these ideas emanating from the one Mind are accepted as the basis of thought, they then support, uplift, sustain, and give us our rightful dominion over fluctuating, discordant, mortal thought. Thus this constant good in thought brings us stability of happiness, constancy of good health, better morals, and a higher state of intelligence, and our every action expresses this harmony.

Erroneous thought is based on one's failure to affirm the omnipresence of the divine consciousness and deny the false belief that there are many material minds, moving back and forth between good and evil. It produces uncertainty in one's experience. According to his acceptance of this erroneous basis of thought, one may find his actions reflecting harmony and inharmony, joy and sorrow, morality and immorality.
