Mary Baker Eddy certainly gave all mankind a great gift of Love when she discovered the laws of Christ Jesus' healing works. Christian Science is an immediately available and instantly effective way to meet every human need. In my experience there are two proofs of the healing power of this divine Science I would particularly like to express gratitude for.

Two years ago my nephew was helping me repaint an old house. A cover had hardened on a paint roller, and in attempting to pry the cover loose the tool I was using for this process slipped and with quite a bit of force went into my hand. The pain was severe. When the tool was removed, some of the muscles in my hand and fingers didn't work.

As my nephew drove me to his home, this verse of the ninety-first Psalm was all I could think of to shut out the argument of pain: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (v. 11). My sister and I talked of God's ever-presence, power, and strength, and how man can never be separated from God and His perfection, since man is the spiritual image and likeness of God. Within the hour the pain subsided so that my nephew and I went back to work. In a very short time the wound in my hand closed, and all evidence of the accident vanished.
