"I'm in love"

When I was in high school, I didn't think I was as popular as I wanted to be. "Going steady" was the thing to do, and it was no joke to me that I had never gone steady—that the boys I liked never seemed to like me.

My friends were falling in and out of love, and took turns saying dreamily, "I'm in love." As for me, I disliked being without dates so much of the time.

I John 4:8; And after quoting this statement, the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, points out, "More than this we cannot ask, higher we cannot look, farther we cannot go." Science and Health, p. 6; Indeed, Love—spelled with a capital L—is regarded by Christian Scientists as a synonym for God.
