I was brought up in Christian Science, but in my teens I left the Sunday School and the Church of Christ, Scientist, because of a false sense of sophistication and the notion that religion was for the old. Eighteen years later I found myself in a painful physical condition for which doctors said there was no relief.
I had had three operations, all of them considered successful, except that the wound would not heal but kept getting bigger. It was planned that I undergo a fourth operation, with no assurance of better results. In desperation I returned to the religion of my childhood, remembering all it had done for our family in those early years. I made one telephone call to a Christian Science practitioner. In fifteen minutes I was out of pain and on the road to a complete healing, which took place within just a few days.
With great gratitude I then turned wholeheartedly to reliance on the truth of scientific being as I had been taught, and as I began to understand as a result of further study of the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy's writings, a number of healings rapidly followed.
