Our Beloved Leader

There is no limit to the teachings of Christian Science. Academic subjects, on the other hand, are finite. But the more one learns of Christian Science, the more there is for him to learn. Infinity is the only measure of divine metaphysics, and to pursue the study of such metaphysics earnestly is to venture into the generally unknown.

Christ Jesus was the master Metaphysician. Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "The nature of Christianity is peaceful and blessed, but in order to enter into the kingdom, the anchor of hope must be cast beyond the veil of matter into the Shekinah into which Jesus has passed before us." Science and Health, pp. 40-41;

Jesus himself promised another Comforter, which would teach what the people were not yet ready to hear. And in Revelation we read of "a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars." Rev. 12:1; Christian Scientists understand this vision of St. John, like Jesus' promise, as referring to the coming of Divine Science to humanity. In fact, it foretells how the Comforter finds its way into the hearts and minds of each one of us.
