"I'm perfect--God made me that way"

Meg served. The volley ball came flying to Cathy and she hit it over the net in my direction. I jumped for it and hit it back to score a point. But when I hit the ground after my jump, I came down on the side of my foot. I heard a loud pap and felt a sharp pain go through my foot. I immediately started to deny that evil could be real, and went back to play. My sports teacher asked me if I was all right, and I said Yes.

As the game went on, my foot hurt so badly I could hardly stand on it. My teacher asked me to come over and sit down and give her my foot. I was reluctant to do it, but I did. She felt it and said she thought it was broken. She asked me if I wanted her to give me a ride home. I said that I would walk. She told me I should go home right then and tell my mother. I said I would wait until sports was over. I finally persuaded her to let me stay for the last quarter, and I sat and thought about how God made everything good.

I went home, where my mother was wallpapering. I told her I had something to tell her, and I told her about what had happened and what the teacher had said. I was surprisingly not surprised at all when all she said was, "Hand me that piece of wallpaper, please." Then she added gently, "You know that your relationship with your Father-Mother God can never be separated or broken."
