How Can I Decide What's Right for Me?

How do you choose the right course of study or the right career? One set of facts or pressures may say, "Go this way"; another set may tell you to go in just the opposite direction; and still another may point to something entirely different. How are you to resolve these conflicts and make a wise, satisfying choice?

The way to start, Christian Science teaches us (before weighing human data and opinions pro or con), is to turn whole-heartedly to God, infinite Love, in prayer. Divine Love is ever present with each of us, perfectly sustaining us right here and now. Because the Father-Mother's perception and capacities are unlimited, He's always conscious of each aspect of our real, spiritual being as His direct expression. His all-intelligent plan for His children is constantly developing, undelayed and unopposed. Referring to God, Mrs. Eddy says in Unity of Good, "He has mercy upon us, and guides every event of our careers." Un., pp. 3–4;

When we pray, we need to see and acknowledge the fact of God's ever-presence and wise, loving care. We can insist that it applies to us, for, in truth, we are God's reflections, ever at one with Him. This recognition of oneness is vital. God isn't something off in the heavens, separate from His creation. Because He is infinite, He must of necessity fill all space.
