One of the most beautiful proofs of God's healing presence and power occurred in our home a few years ago. I was called home from work one afternoon, right at the beginning of the school year, by our older daughter. She said her younger sister had been in an accident. All the way home I kept holding to the thought that divine Mind, God, does not know accidents. Upon arriving home I found that while this youngster had been riding on the back of a neighbor child's bicycle she had gotten her heel caught in the spoke and cut the back of her heel severely.

After I got her calmed down, and had cleaned and dressed the heel, I put her to bed for a nap and went into my room to quietly study. I absolutely could not accept the material picture as being any part of God's beloved child, and I steadfastly declared the perfection of the one creator, God, and His perfect reflection, man. I also had to know that there are no disobedient children in God's kingdom, as this child had often been told never to tow or be towed on a bicycle.

This little one missed one day of school and returned the following day with her foot bandaged, and wearing a slipper. The suggestion of possible infection had to be denied, as many well-meaning friends expressed their concern. I knew that she dwelled completely in the realm of eternal Love, where the claim of infection was unknown, powerless. The severed piece of flesh came loose painlessly one day as I held to the truth in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
