Alcoholism—Freedom Is Possible

It isn't a very pleasant surprise when someone finds he has become the slave of something he once enjoyed, and his first response might well be despair. But what if this despair were recognized as a sign that he is now ready to leave behind an old indulgence—one that never really satisfied— and to find a fuller, more permanent kind of joy? To come to the end of a lie is to be ready for the truth. And as Christ Jesus said, it's knowing the truth—the truth of what we really are as God's children—that makes us free. This is the realization and the joyful liberation that Christian Science has brought to many a person in bondage today.
