What Shall We Eat?
Quoting an Old Testament writer, Christ Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."Luke 4:4; How true this is! Human health and happiness demand much more than material food and drink, important as they are.
Deep in the human heart there is a need that nothing material can possibly satisfy. And Christian Science shows this longing to be the prompting of one's real spiritual nature impelling him to awake to a higher, more satisfying sense of life. It's a hunger and thirst for reality, a desire to know God better and to feel the peace and harmony of His presence.
The scientific understanding of God as Love, divine Mind, all-satisfying Soul, and the recognition of man's inseparable unity with Him, is a powerful prayer that refreshes and revitalizes every aspect of our being. Mrs. Eddy tells us, "Immortal Mind feeds the body with supernal freshness and fairness, supplying it with beautiful images of thought and destroying the woes of sense which each day brings to a nearer tomb."Science and Health, p. 248;
