Out from the Pressures of Time
The man who is habitually in a hurry, rushing to complete job after job, may need to be told to take his time. Probably most of us have been grateful for the momentary slackening of pace that "taking our time" implies. But how much better to learn how to break the tyranny of time and take our freedom! To move increasingly out of the pressures of time into a state of consciousness where time is not and the completeness of God's creation is recognized. Into eternity.
But what can we know of eternity?
In Science and Health, the Christian Science textbook, Mrs. Eddy answers the question this way: "One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity." And she concludes: "Time is a mortal thought, the divisor of which is the solar year. Eternity is God's measurement of soul-filled years."Science and Health, pp. 598, 599;
