Buddy was Ariel's little white dog. Buddy and the family had driven all the way from Wyoming to visit Grandma on her big Iowa farm.

From the first day, he and Ariel began exploring the farm together. Every day was an exciting adventure because every day they discovered new places and surprising new things.

One sunny day Ariel had just finished helping Grandma with the lunch dishes. Now she was ready for more exploring so she called Buddy. When he didn't come she thought he might have wandered off alone—maybe to the orchard. He and Buttram the goat were good friends. She found Buttram all right, but Buddy wasn't with him. ...
