Chance—A Part of My Life?

Consider the story of a man who was imprisoned by the local chief executive for living his highest sense of right. One of his friends had just been executed, and he was to be tried soon. He was surrounded by guards constantly, and bound with chains.

Then, the night before his trial, his chains fell off while the guards slept, and he was able to escape from the prison.

Fantastic luck? A rusty lock or defective chain? The Apostle Peter didn't think so. He was certain there was a spiritual power in operation, directly responsible for this apparent miracle. After his release he said, "Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews." Acts 12:11;
