My first physical healing in Christian Science was that of a crippling condition diagnosed as arthritis. I was a teacher in a public school and had to give up my work. I could scarcely walk, and if alone often had to crawl. I was given no hope of ever being better.

When the way seemed extremely dark, a Christian Science friend saw my need, and largely through the love she expressed I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science. The healing came slowly, but along the way many false beliefs dropped off as my thought became more Godlike.

Since that time I have had many other healings, among them ulcers of the stomach, pleurisy, kidney stones, a small growth on the nose, and an instantaneous healing of a burn when the oven exploded. Through prayer and the help of a devoted Christian Science practitioner the right home for us came.

My heart is filled with gratitude for the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and for the light it throws on the Scriptures, for a fuller understanding of divine Love, and for the love Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy expressed. Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, the Christian Science literature, and the joyous experience of class instruction have greatly enriched my life.
