At school during recess I pulled a muscle in my leg while playing kickball. By lunchtime I felt I couldn't return to school, because I couldn't walk. My mom suggested that I lie down and read the assignment my Sunday School teacher had given me. It was to learn the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it many times and then said, "I think I'll read it once more for good luck." My mother answered, "Christian Scientists don't believe it's luck that heals. They know God is the healer." One of the lines with the interpretation reads (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 16):

"Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom is come: Thou art ever-present."

I read the prayer over again and understood that God was helping me. Then I was able to get up and walk. I went back to school and in gym that afternoon at two thirty I high-jumped three feet two inches—the highest anyone was able to jump in the fourth grade class. Was I glad for Christian Science!

My son's testimony is proof that "the word of God is quick, and powerful" (Heb. 4:12). It was a beautiful healing.
