At school during recess I pulled a muscle in my leg while playing kickball. By lunchtime I felt I couldn't return to school, because I couldn't walk. My mom suggested that I lie down and read the assignment my Sunday School teacher had given me. It was to learn the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it many times and then said, "I think I'll read it once more for good luck." My mother answered, "Christian Scientists don't believe it's luck that heals. They know God is the healer." One of the lines with the interpretation reads (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 16):
"Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom is come: Thou art ever-present."
