SPIRITUALIZING THOUGHT
through honoring the real man
One of the factors that contributes to individual satisfaction on the job is proper placement. It cannot always occur, however, if employment is considered to be governed only by the decisions of many people, many human minds. The perfect inspiration and guidance of the one divine Mind is needed. Then the real man, Mind's expression, can be honored. Herein lies the solution to the problem of effective employment.
To one concerned with correct staffing for an organization, whether business, religious, or social, this spiritual approach has great significance. It implies both recognition of the qualities of the man of God's creating and individual action manifested in the understanding and application of these qualities. The complete solution to an employment problem, of course, involves both the individual who places others and the individual who is placed.
For all individuals in a placement situation, recognition of the qualities of the real man is possible through the knowledge in Christian Science that man is a spiritual idea of God. We are never really separated from God, and can always express God-derived qualities such as right motivation, intelligence, dedication. We are created to accomplish God's will. Seeing this truth, we honor the real man in the positive way Mrs. Eddy identifies: "Holding the right idea of man in my mind, I can improve my own, and other people's individuality, health, and morals." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 62; This approach spiritualizes our thought. It helps us emphasize and bring about the progressive and developmental nature of every placement situation.
