Healing by Understanding the true sense of hearing

However difficult the situation we may be facing, we can rejoice. As the idea or reflection of God, omnipresent Spirit, we possess here and now the wonderful faculty of responding spontaneously, instantaneously, to the unerring direction of the all-hearing Mind. We can claim this faculty and experience healing. Christian Science tells us: Identify yourself with Mind as idea. Claim your true sense of hearing—not in fleshly organs but in spiritual understanding. Know that it is a faculty of divine Mind forever bestowed on man.

Mind's ideas continuously enlighten our thought and bring comfort, healing, protection. Often they come to us as spiritual intuitions, God's angel thoughts. We become aware of their presence as we humbly turn to divine Love for guidance.

If a claim of disease or a discordant human relationship has resisted our earnest efforts to demonstrate the healing power of Truth, let us heed the Scriptural message, "In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength." ^{ Isa. 30:15;} Our need is to become better listeners, to silence the clamor of the material senses, so that we can hear the Father's voice. Then, in the quietness of spiritual communion with God, a verse from the Bible or a statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy may come into our thought, or perhaps an idea direct from Mind, and we will find that it presents the exact truth that counteracts and destroys the error we are confronted with.
