I wish to express my profound gratitude for Mrs. Eddy and her role as Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. My mother became acquainted with this wonderful religion a number of years ago when she visited a Christian Science Reading Room located near our home. She overcame family opposition to Christian Science and joined The Mother Church and a branch church and enrolled my sister and me in the Sunday School.
I shall always remember my Sunday School teachers with great affection and gratitude for their sound guidance. In my late teens I made the decision to become an earnest student of Christian Science. This proved to be a turning point in my life. From then on beautiful things opened up for me one by one until a marvelous transformation took place (one that is still going on, I am grateful to say).
I was active during my college years in the Christian Science college organization. The young people with whom I associated in the organization were an inspiration to me, and the opportunity of serving as an officer and taking an active part was excellent preparation for membership in a branch church.
