Depriving Lack of Its Cause
One need only tune in TV, switch on the radio, or glance at a newsstand, and there it is—lack. We are constantly being told that the world is filled with poverty, crime, pollution, war. Generally life is presented as destitute of joy, health, harmony, brotherly love, or freedom.
Is it possible for a deficiency to be a component part of a universe created by God, the maximum of good? If lack is God-created, can it be overcome? The plausible answer to beliefs of lack based on a material sense of existence is to be found in the study and practice of Christian metaphysics as found in the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy.
In the textbook, Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy explains: "Metaphysics is above physics, and matter does not enter into metaphysical premises or conclusions. The categories of metaphysics rest on one basis, the divine Mind. Metaphysics resolves things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul." Science and Health, p. 269;
