With great joy I would like to express my gratitude that Christian Science first came to me when I was still a relatively young person, and that I have had the blessing of studying the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly throughout the years. I recognized this religion to be the only perfect help for man. It shows that sin and all errors of belief in general have no reality and melt away before the understanding of omnipresent divine Love.
Christian Science is a preventive Science as well as our only remedy. It freed me from the tendency to catch cold and healed me of jaundice, of a slipped vertebra following a slight toboggan mishap, of what was called a serious knee injury, of a sore on the upper arm, and of a splintering in the heel. This latter healing was confirmed by X ray. At that time I was appointed usher in our branch church. I gratefully accepted the post and knew that I would be healed in time for my first ushering assignment. And I was. Also, last spring I was healed of shingles.
But, most of all, I am grateful for the spiritual uplift that enabled me to overcome an inclination to periods of depression, from which I had suffered for years. I am very grateful to God, for His Son, Christ Jesus, and for the author of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy, as well as for all her other writings and the current literature. Also I rejoice that I joined a branch church when but twenty-one years of age, and one year later became a member of our beloved Mother Church. At the same time, I was privileged to take class instruction, and have attended the annual association meeting throughout the years. The Bible has become for me the Book of Life, in which I discover ever new things of value. Also, the services in my branch church are always a joyous, uplifting experience for me. Love never fails!
