A High School Student Writes
Joy That Never Walks Out
Living in a girls' dorm with one hundred and fifty–five other Christian Scientists is fascinating. I get a chance to talk seriously with many of the girls because I am a coordinator—a position similar to a counselor at camp.
Many of the kids here at school are really excited about living Christian Science, but I've found that at some time or other we each feel unpopular, alone, fat, funny–looking, or unfashionable. Sometimes, just plain unhappy and depressed. And we don't know what to do about it.
Well, I began to ask myself, "What is happiness? What brings permanent joy? Does it come from buying a new outfit or finally being asked out by that certain person?"
