I was brought up in a family blessed with Christian Science, and this Science has been the law of my life. General good health has been my experience, and much protection has been evident. Several healings stand out in memory.

At one time a bamboo pole I had been holding while running made a deep hole in my forehead. Within an hour I was happily playing "Indian," a new headband covering the wound. The flesh was renewed through Christian Science treatment, and no scar has been left. This healing of my own as a child has proved a source of strength to me when caring for my own children, especially in one instance when stitches were said to be needed to close wound. I knew and proved that stitches were unnecessary, since, as Mrs. Eddy says, "The divine Science of man is woven into one web of consistency without seam or rent" (Science and Health, p. 242). The wound closed and healed, leaving no scar.

The need for a home was met promptly and sufficiently whenever the need appeared. A furnished house was available in England when we were newly married, and when there seemed to be a great housing shortage soon after the Second World War. I held to the fact that man's real home is the atmosphere of Truth and Love and is therefore already established.
