DID I PASS BY?

Luke 10:33–35

Bernice King Brigham

When he "came where he was,"
Where was I?
Did I pass by,
Intent upon my own busyness,
Or did I stop
And bind up the wounds,
The slight, the snub,
The fragile dream,
And raise the injured up
And offer him the cup,
The wine of inspiration, love,
And healing?

And did I see him
Standing high,
Radiant in life,
God's likeness, God's reflection,
Even as you,
And even as I?
