Laws of Supply: Spiritual Not Material

The material senses would tell us either that there is not enough of what people need, or that if there is an abundance, it is not in the right place at the right time. Millions are seen hungry and homeless in the midst of plenty; slums abound in opulent cities the world over; people are afraid of an inadequate demand for their services beyond a certain age or of forced retirement cutting off their source of supply.

Christian Science completely refutes the material beliefs of limitation producing these erroneous conditions. It teaches that there is a spiritual law governing supply, and clear rules for its application. This law is that there is always an abundance of spiritual ideas from divine Mind, God, to meet our every need, and that the spiritualizing of thought and the right use of whatever appears in our experience as supply brings that abundance to light.

In his Sermon on the Mount, Christ Jesus stated this law and explained it, concluding with the unequivocal words: "Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ... for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:31-33;
