I am thirteen years old, and I was born into a Christian Science...

I am thirteen years old, and I was born into a Christian Science home. I have had many healings, one of which was a broken collarbone. Three years ago my brother and I were running, and he accidentally pushed me and I fell. I knew that God is Love and He is all around. We telephoned a Christian Science practitioner. I went up to my room, and we read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I went to bed knowing that I am the image and likeness of God, and I said the Lord's Prayer. I listened to the Children's Talking Book [records with Bible passages and hymns and prayers loved by Christian Science Sunday School pupils], I sang and read with the records, and very soon was able to walk around. I clung to this verse from Mrs. Eddy's hymn (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207):

Love is our refuge; only with mine eye
Can I behold the snare, the pit, the fall:
His habitation high is here, and nigh,
His arm encircles me, and mine, and all.

Recently I was healed of constant bleeding when teeth were taken out. We called a practitioner, and she told me a story about a boy who was out on an ocean rock near shore praying because an octopus was following him and trying to reach him. He prayed, "God wrap me all around with love," over and over. After some time the octopus went away. Then I was not afraid, because I knew God was wrapping me all around with love, and I went to sleep. I am grateful for this healing, too.

I was also healed of measles overnight two years ago. The rash appeared on my body one evening. We called for treatment by a practitioner, and I went to my bedroom and read from the Bible and Science and Health before I went to sleep. The next morning when I awoke, the rash was completely gone, and I was healed.

I am truly grateful to God for our loving Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for Mrs. Eddy. I am grateful for the practitioners who help us by praying for us. My heart is full of gratitude and joy.

(Miss) Bambi Lynn Brinton

We are the parents of Bambi, and we testify to the healings she related. A few days after Bambi fell, it seemed that her shoulder was drooping, and so we took her to a physician, thinking that perhaps we should have the bone set. After taking X rays the doctor stated that the collarbone had been broken in two places but was set perfectly. He suggested that she could wear a brace, but when we knew the setting of the bones had taken place, we did not use a brace but relied completely on Christian Science. She had a beautiful healing.

The story of the octopus meant much to Bambi because her fear resembled an octopus, and this story calmed her fears, and she felt secure in God's love.

Bambi has been healed quickly of colds, flu, and so-called children's diseases, and many times has been protected from contagion in these instances.

We are most grateful to God, to Christian Science, and for the consecrated work of the practitioner who gives so unselfishly of her time to help us.

We are Bambi's grandparents, and we wish to verify her healing. We have witnessed many healings of our four grandchildren, as well as the protection afforded them through the study of Christian Science. We will be celebrating our golden wedding anniversary soon, and we wish to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the healings we have received through Christian Science. Divine Love has met our every human need. We are grateful for The Mother Church, our branch church, and the periodicals.
