"Man has always reacted to his world through various symbols. One of the most consistent has been the symbol of flight—a bird, an eagle. It seems to symbolize our basic urge to be free from the confines of Earth. Now man has achieved the ultimate in flight. He really is free from Earth. What will his next craving be? The answer is coming clear: it is man himself. Man must now conquer himself.
